Built along the foothills of Mount Meru in northern Tanzania, Shangazi House has 10 acres of gardens and woodland with views south and east across Maasailand.
A ten-minute drive takes you up into Arusha National Park, the home to deep calderas and Colobus monkeys (the giraffes to the right were photographed in the park).
The colonial-style main house and 4 outlying cottages provide not only great privacy and comfort, but also the luxury of the cooling breezes coming off the mountain.
Shangazi is the perfect place to explore and experience the mysteries of Africa. Safari is a Swahili word that means ?long journey.? One of the nicest things about Shangazi House is that you don?t have to make a long trek to see the wild parts of Tanzania. It?s only a 10 minute ride to Arusha National Park, a mountainous and forested sanctuary ?island? where juniper forests and waterfalls are situated along tranquil lakes and forested volcanic rims.
