Description

Principal Duties and Responsabilities
1. SALES & PROMOTION

  • To receive training and perform duties in sales department
  • To perform direct sales and reservations of individual travelers, groups and travel agents for the local market
  • To make quotations for Hotel Banquet and Groups & meetings facilities
  • To issue contracts for local market upon EA Sales Manager’s approval
  • To receive training and perform duties in sales department
  • To assist EA Sales Manager in planning and directing the work of the organization
  • To maintain a perpetual analysis of the travel industry in Africa Area and to have a thorough knowledge of the competitive market in this area.
  • To identify trends and recommends proactive or remedial action to manage business situations
  • To report market activity to management by monitoring and analyzing competitive price lists and products
  • To disseminate update information pertaining all hotels services to the Corporate Sales Department and Area Sales Managers.
  • To perform promotion, presentation and follow up of specials offers and advertising
  • To participate and organize trade sight Inspections with detailed follow up
  • To perform digital marketing activites for resorts in Africa
  • To prepare newsletter content on monthly basis
  • To participate to quarterly sales meeting.
  • To obtain and maintain an awareness of the community, business, political and social factors which may effect the company’s financial objectives
  • To maintain systematic customer satisfaction statistics and customer claim reports.
  • To establish and maintain accurate forecasting procedures to enable company operations to adjust and cost structure accordingly (room allotments & assisted by protel)
  • To source advertising opportunities and monitor competitor initiatives on a weekly basis
  • To be fully conversant with the Sales business plan and objectives
  • To be fully conversant with all hotels and company marketing programmes
  • To accompany and follow-up on site-inspections

2. FINANCIAL

  • To be fully conversant with the Sales budget relating to budgeted occupancy, Average Rate and business mix
  • To ensure payments in coordination with Credit Controller and Financial Controller of the hotel

3. STANDARDS & GENERAL

  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Sales & Marketing Policies & Procedures Manual
  • To ensure the accuracy of sales transactions and that they are taken in accordance with the hotel and Company’s procedures
  • To ensure that all promotional materials (for example brochures, catalogues, advertisings, newspaper and magazines editorials, flyers, posters) adhere to Company and Hotel Policies & Procedures and Graphic Standards
  • To handle clients queries/complaints in accordance with the company procedures
  • To ensure that the standard telephone etiquette procedures are adhered to
  • To maintain the appropriate standards for discipline and dress, hygiene, uniform, appearance, posture and conduct
  • To project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self control
  • To maintain good customer relations
  • To suggest VIP standards
  • To ensure that the Place of Work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times
  • To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing

4. CONFIDENTIALITY & DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

  • To hold in the strictest confidence all proprietary business data, business plans, financial projections and results, customer information, computer programs and similar materials and information made available during employment with the company's Resorts & Hotels. All such materials and information shall not be shared or disclosed to any third parties or otherwise except in the routine course of performance of duties. Any copies, summaries or compilations thereof shall be returned to the Company upon termination of employment
  • To disclose to the Company the nature of any other work done outside the company’s hours
