The typical work schedule is 25-30 contact periods per week (Monday through Friday). Attendance at school is required between the hours of 7:30 and 15:30, where after- school activities may extend until 16:00. At times, a teacher will be asked to perform duties that are not normally part of contracted responsibilities. The role of a private institution in an international setting
demands a deeper sense of involvement on the part of the teacher that in most cases is beyond what is demanded in the teacher's home country. For many of our students, ISZ is the only or the primary source of extra-curricular activities. Thus, a teacher at ISZ is expected to be involved with students beyond the classroom. It is in the everyone’s best
interest for school staff to have a spirit of sharing and community involvement.

In order to obtain an accurate picture of teacher performance, observations need to be frequent and reflect the different circumstances of a teacher's daily routines. At ISZ, teacher observations will include, but are not limited to:
IGCSE & A Level English Language Teacher ISZ staff is expected to work together as a Professional Learning Community (PLC), helping one another whenever possible. A cooperative attitude among teachers is important with regards to student learning and the private nature of ISZ. This leads to working with other teachers in some areas and sharing knowledge and teaching techniques in other areas.
