The Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania (WCST) is a non-governmental and non-profit making, membership civil Society Organization: established in 1988 with the aim of conserving Tanzania?s flora, fauna and the environment in general. The WCST is the Birdlife International Partner Organization in Tanzania and has a special interest in birds.
Mission and Objectives
The Society?s mission is to conserve Tanzania?s wildlife and the environment for the benefit of mankind. To attain the mission, the Society works towards addressing the following specific objectives:-
=Promote sustainable and equitable use of natural resources
Carry out environmental conservation education/awareness within Tanzania so as to stimulate interest and promote wise use and enjoyment of nature.
Provide technical support and other information to the Government and others
Assist in reviewing and formulating wildlife and natural resource conservation policies
