WASTEdar is a non-profit organization specializing in waste management and recycling in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We have built up a bank of unparalleled knowledge and expertise on issues relating to waste management and recycling in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania that we use to operate an array of waste management and recycling services and programs.
WASTEdar's services and programs are designed and developed regularly in order to comprehensively address Dar es Salaam's waste management challenges and improvements. Key service and program focuses include: waste management & recycling, engineering, education, arts, crafts & industry and most importantly scientific research that ensures that our charitable intentions are backed with evidence and data.
In addition to our key service and program focuses, WASTEdar manages the Waste Pickers Alliance of Tanzania, member to the Global Alliance of Waste Pickers, providing technical & material support to the thousands of waste pickers in Dar es Salaam that make a living by collecting and trading recyclable waste.
The WASTEdar website has also become a program in itself. Our resources page for example seeks to present a substantial and useful internet resource to academia, students and the general public who wish to learn more about waste management and recycling in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
