The Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce is an umbrella organization uniting sectoral business women associations, companies, and individuals who have agreed to form a united front to advocate, lobby and network for the well being of their businesses and prosperity of women entrepreneurs. Current membership stands at 6 associations and 20 companies; all together about 2000 members.
Since its establishment in the year 2006, the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) has grown to a formal structure of an association as now has managed to hold meetings regularly, have an operational office and lership. As an apex organization of business women seems to have won acceptance of the targeted members, the SMEs and various sectoral groupings.
Business women need a common voice and synergy in their undertakings. They needed to lobby and advocate for equitable share in business, but also in contributing to national business policies and participation in different forcers that are aimed at unlocking business hurdles. The current situations of TWCC can be elucidated by un attempt to present its strengths, weaknesses opportunities and threats.
Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) was established in 2006 as a company limited by guarantee under the company ordinance (Cap 212) with registration number 54932. It is a private non government, non-partisan and non-profit making organization.
The current office of the organization is at the Small Industries Development Organization; headquarter offices along Mfaume/Fire Road, Upanga in Dar es Salaam.
