Udzungwa is the largest of a dozen forest-covered mountains, part of the Eastern Arc Mountains. It is best known for its network of hiking trails, including the popular half-day hike to Sanje Waterfall, which plunges 170 metres (550 feet) and ends in a misty spray.
It is also home to over 400 avian species and six primate species, two of which can be found nowhere else on the planet - the Iringa red colombus and the Sanje Crested Mangabey.
