About Sport Fishing @ Lake Shore Lodge:
The Sangala Pamba, is one of only 23 species of fresh water fish, with the accolade of growing over 2 meters in length and over 100kg's in weight.
We have two fishing boats available for hire and because sports’ fishing is such a personal affair, we suggest that serious fishermen bring their own favourite tackle.
For the less serious fisherman, we have standard rods and fishing gear. We also offer traditional fishing out among the local fishermen.
Armed with hand lines and kerosene lanterns, we try our hand at catching fish using the age old methods. Being a part of the floating city of lights on the Lake is a magical experience and is fun for young and old.
Location/Directions: Lake Shore Lodge is found on the banks of Lake Tanganyika, near the village of Kipili, on the west of Tanzania, in the Rukwa Region. Our GPS co-ordinates are S07.26.056 E030.35.448. To reach us by 4x4 vehicle, drive to Mbeya (on the border between Malawi and Tanzania), then westward to Tunduma (on the border between Zambia and Tanzania). From Tunduma head north to Sumbawanga (224km), then west to Namanyere (100km) and then to Lake Tanganyika to Kipili (64km).
