About Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge & Retreat:

Ngare Sero is one of the oldest family lodges in Tanzania. Set in lush gardens amid forest and crystal clear waters on the slopes of Mount Meru, Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place to relax and simmer in the immense beauty of East Africa. The Lodge has been adapted from an early colonial farmhouse built in the early 20th century. It offers only 10 garden rooms, 1 main house suites and pool cottage with 2 bedrooms, and provides personal service for its residents since 1973.

Here you can spend the days amid nature, watching the changing colors of the Kilimanjaro glaciers while sipping drinks on the verandah or hiking in the forest inhabited by colobus and Sykes monkeys as well as hundreds of small animal and bird species. Try swimming in the 30 meter pool or fly fishing in the cool waters of the clear lake, horse rode under the tree canopy or treat yourself in a Garden Spa after a long journey or an international flight. The Lodge is located only 30 minutes away from Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha town center, which makes it an ideal base for safaris.

Location/Directions:

From Arusha town drive on the main road 20 km towards Moshi. At Usa River 20km (Leganga junction) turn left under the Dikdik sign and drive 2 km up the Jacaranda alley on the slope of Mt Meru. Turn left at the sign board on a tree "Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge", follow the road and park at the footbridge. Karibu!
